Claire, age 76, of Milford passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Milford Hospital. She was born on August 19, 1938 in Attleboro, Ma. to Arthur M. White of Milford and the late Isabel Flynn White. She attended Milford High School and Housatonic Community College. For many years she was the owner of Rapid Cleaners in Milford and an active member of the Orangewood Woman’s Club. She was a loving mother that was totally dedicated to her family. Besides her father, she is survived by her daughters Carol Anne Lowe-Salmon and Georgette Lowe of Milford, Susan Volpe (Fedele) of Orange, her son Arthur Lowe (Helen) of South Lyons, Michigan, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters Mary-Jo LaChance, Carole Duhaime, Barbara Sansone, her brother Edward White (Gladys) all of Milford, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her mother she is predeceased by Charles Giardino, companion of over 40 years, her brothers Charles White (Carol) of Ellington, Arthur White III of New Haven, and late brothers-in-law Peter LaChance and John “Frenchy” Duhaime, son-in law Steve Salmon and grandchild Sean Salmon. Calling hours will be held at Smith and Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 North Broad Street in Milford Friday, Ocober 24, 2014 from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 25, 2014 in St. Marys Church, Gulf Street in Milford at 9:00am.
