Clifford St. John Obituary

Clifford St. John, of Milford, departed this life on Monday, July 13, 2009 in Wallingford after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Grand Isle, Maine, on February 12, 1926, to the late Leo and Louisa DeMeo St. John. Cliff proudly served his country during WWII as a squad leader in the US Army, where he received the purple heart as well as other ribbons and stars. Cliff lived in Milord for 35 years where he enjoyed his passion for vegetable gardening, feeding the many species of birds and especially his most beloved dogs. He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Linda White St. John, their 3 “special guys”, Craig, Chipper and Jonathan along with a host of brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clifford’s memory to either the Kennedy Center, 2440 Reservoir Ave. Trumbull, CT 06611 or Oak Hill School, 120 Holcomb St., Hartford, CT 06112. Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 11am. Interment will be private.
