Our deepest condolences to the entire family. Grandma Shedek had seven children, my mother was one of her daughters. Now our last uncle has gone to his heavenly reward. I never really got to know my uncle, as he lived on the East coast while I was growing up in Wisconsin. I remember my grandmother and aunts talking lovingly about him, but in those days travel halfway across the country wasn't even a dream for us. We visited with them when they came to Wisconsin, but the memories dimmed after so many years. My mom proudly showed pictures of him in his uniform, and later, with his family. Several years ago, we decided to have a family picnic in Wisconsin, and we were able to really meet and get to know Uncle Conrad and Ruth. I wish we could have continued that happy tradition! We all remember him as a happy, quiet man, and are proud to be part of his family. Yes, a member of the "Greatest Generation!"

Donna Kasinak and The Entire Peck Street Family lit a Memorial Candle | July 08, 2014

For twenty-three years Conrad has been not only my landlord but a dear loyal, compassionate and committed friend of the Peck Street Family. Over the past twenty-three years I have raised a biological son,two adopted daughters and numerous neglected and abused foster children within his rental property. Conrad was always warm, empathetic and considerate of the plight these children suffered. Our Peck Street home was the only warm and nurturing environment some of these children ever got to know. Conrad was very proud of the part he got play within the lives of all these children some now adults others still adolescent. Although a humble man, his humility spoke volumes to the Man of God that he was. His service to God and Country live on eternally. Conrad you will forever be remembered with a smile and loved for your service to mankind. I pray many follow in your footsteps. Great is you're reward my dear friend. Until we meet again....
