David Irwin Poole, age 52, of New Haven and formerly of Orange, passed away in his home on Sunday, June 21, 2009. He was born on June 14, 1957 to Allan K. and Alice Ehrenclou Poole of West Haven. A graduate of Foundation School and Chapel Haven Inc., he was proud to be employed by McDonald’s in Westville for the past twenty eight years. In the summer, he worked for the New Haven Ravens. Many of the local police, rescue, firefighters and postal employees were his friends. He will be remembered as a loyal sports fan of Yale University, especially hockey and football. Yale players and sports executives were also among his close friends. Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother William A. Poole of Washington, DC, sister Catherine P. Merrihew of Seabeck, WA, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford is handling the arrangements.
