Dorothy Maxwell, age 93, of Milford, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in West River Health Care Center. She was born on June 28, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Frank and Carrie Molitor Stroehlein. Her life was devoted to her family. As a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, she is survived by her dedicated children Michael Maxwell and his wife Catherine of Milford, Matthew Maxwell and his wife Marie of New York and Susan Sarullo and her husband Vincent of Milford, sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, brother Thomas Stroehlein of NY, sister Agnes Swanson of FL and son-in-law Michael Sweeney of Milford. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Matthew Maxwell, son John Maxwell, daughter Carol Sweeney, granddaughter Karen Sweeney and twelve brothers and sisters. A special thanks to West River Health Care Center for their devotion and help. Calling hours are 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 8th at 10:30am in St. Mary’s Church, Gulf St., Milford. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
