Earl Barber Obituary

Earl Lloyd Barber, Jr., age 85, of Milford, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. Born on January 2, 1928 in Bridgeport, to the late Earl and Josephine (Peters) Barber Sr., he proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Before retiring, he was employed by Raybestos in the shipping and receiving department. Earl played and excelled in several sports especially softball and was an all-round sports enthusiast and an avid motorcyclist. Mr. Barber is survived by his devoted children Cynthia Mazza of Florida, David Barber of West Haven and Ellen Rinaldi and her husband Michael of Winchester, brothers Richard Barber and his wife Diane of Milford and Kenneth Barber of Missouri, sisters Judy Mallico of Huntington and Diane Mallozzi and her husband Anthony of Florida, grandchildren; Paul Mazza of New York, David Barber and Daniel Barber both of West Haven, great-grandchildren; Brianna and Giovanni Mazza of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife Mary (Bolack) Barber, brothers Ronald and Norman Barber and sister Linda Andrews. Calling hours are Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 2-5 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home at 9:30 am, before the Mass of Christian Burial, that will be celebrated on Monday, October 14th at 11:00 am in St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave., Milford. Interment will be private.
