Edith Fortuna

Edith Christine Fortuna, age 89, of Milford , beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Fortuna, died on Sunday May 4, 2014 at Milford Hospital. She was born in Brewer, Maine on May 18, 1924, daughter of the late James E. and Muriel Bradley Fairley. Edith was a Teacher many years with the Milford Board of Education. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Parish of Milford and St. Justin Parish in Key Largo, FL. She is survived by her children Barbara Brown of Milford, Sharon Miller of Somers, CT., Edith Scamacca of RI., and Jeffrey Fortuna of CO., a sister Ruth Dorey of CT., 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated, Friday May 9, 2014 at 10:30 am directly in St. Mary’s Church, Milford. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford .
