Edward Joseph Hoostowski, age 71, of Stratford, passed away in Bridgeport Hospital on December 3, 2016. He was born on May 22, 1945 in Canaan, CT to the late Stanley and Anne McGuire Hoostowski. Before retiring, he was an electrical technician for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. An active member of the community, he was a member of the Norfolk Curing Club, Elks, Arbeiter Manner Chor Singing Society and the Eidelwies Choir. A loving and devoted husband, he is survived by his wife Paula Vass Hoostowski. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Joan Wirth. Calling hours are Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 5pm to 7pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Gabriel’s Church, Broadway, Milford at 11:00am on Friday, December 9th. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
