Emma Bradley Ferguson, age 86 of Milford, beloved wife of Richard C. for 65 years, died on May 5th at the Milford Health Care Center after a courageous battle with colon and pancreatic cancer. Emma was born in Stratford, Dec. 16, 1921 daughter of the late Oscar Bradley and Alice Barker. She was predeceased by 2 sisters Margaret and Florence and 2 brothers Clarence and Edward. Mrs. Ferguson was an avid reader and an expert knitter. She had been a resident of Milford since 1994 and was previously a resident of Fairfield for 41 years. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ferguson is survived by two daughters, Barbara Harris and her husband Joseph of Delaware, and Pam Fagan and her husband Brian of Newtown. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Joseph Harris and his wife Elizabeth, Janine Hunter and her husband Charles, Colleen Fagan, and Jeff Fagan and his wife Jennifer. Emma had 6 great grandchildren who were the apples of their great grandmother’s eye. She was devoted to nieces, nephews as well as many friends. The family will receive friends in the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460, on Wednesday May 7, 2008 from 4 - 7 p.m. A funeral prayer service will immediately follow at 7: pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Rd, Wilton, CT. 06897 or The Connecticut Hospice, Homeport Cove, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT. 06405.
