Florence L. Ayles, age 75, of Milford passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2010 in Connecticut Hospice. She was born on January 12, 1934 to the late Leo and Florence Wilson Degoursey. A life long Milford residence, she was employed as a bookkeeper for William Dale Assoc. in Milford before retiring. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her husband, of 34 years, Robert A. Ayles, daughters Deborah Jones and her husband Jack of Milford and Donna Marie Gaffney of Shelton, brothers Frank Degoursey and his wife Mary of Wallingford, Leo Degoursey and his wife Floe of Switzerland, FL and Charles Degoursey and his wife Barbara of Milford, sisters Mary Mihaylo and her husband Tom and Louise Crocco and her husband George all of Milford, grandchildren John E. Jones III, Sarah Jones, Ashley Gaffney, Barry Gaffney and Shannon Gaffney, great grandchildren T.J. Jones, Jacob Jones and Deven Rivera, brother-in-law Frank Ayles and his wife Patricia and nephew F. Michael Ayles all of Guilford and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 4 to 8pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 am in the funeral home on Thursday, January 7th. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery.
