Francis Prete

Francis O. “Gig” Prete, age 83, a life long Milford resident, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in Milford Hospital. He was born in Milford on October 22, 1926 to the late Michael and Mary Cogguillo Prete. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. Before retiring, he was the owner and operator of Craftsman Floor Covering Center Inc., and was formerly active in Milford Pop Warner, Coaching Milford Little League and the VFW 7788 in Devon. Mr. Prete is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Rose Teresa Jane Gaudett Prete, devoted children Michael F. (Lisa) Prete, Agnes M. Prete, Buddy T. (Christina) Prete all of Milford and Leon J. (Barbara) Prete of West Haven, cherished grandchildren Jaimie, Lee, Jereme, Arielle, Caitlin, Makenna , Matthew and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers Matthew and John and a sister Mildred. All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Newington Children’s Hospital 282 Washington Street Hartford, CT 06106.
