Gayla Sullivan

Gayla M. Sullivan, age 93, of Milford, CT passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born in Hyde Park, Utah to the late Wilbur and Leah Christensen Hancey. Gayla enjoyed a career as a bank teller and worked for Michael’s Jewelers for many years, however her biggest passion was the Mormon Church. In her youth, she worked for the Civil Air Patrol, was a professional model, and always loved fashion, politics and sports, especially UCONN Women’s Basketball. Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her devoted children Patricia London Fitzgerald of Sterling, MA, Donald J. "Tim" Sullivan, Jr. and John P. Sullivan both of Milford, CT, Richard W. Sullivan of Hope Valley, RI and Kevin C. Sullivan and his wife Laura of Southington, CT; grandchildren Evan, Danielle, Leah, Jamie, Michael, Erin, Maura, Desmond and Siobhán; sister Carol Parker and her husband Bill of South Ogden, UT along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Donald J. Sullivan. Visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 990 Racebrook Rd., Woodbridge, CT from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at the Church. Interment will be private.
