Harold Dunphy Connors, age 87, of Milford, died on December 29, 2014. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved family, cats, books and gardens. Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts on December 10, 1927, and was the son of the late Patrick and Teresa Dunphy Connors, and is predeceased by his beloved sister Patricia Connors Stopek. He met and married his beloved wife Georgia E. Buchanan on October 4, 1952. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he graduated from Tufts University, class of 1948, with a BSME, attended Harvard Worcester Polytech, MIT and from the University of Connecticut with a MSME. He was a Registered Professional Engineer in Connecticut. He worked for many firms that included General Electric, AVCO Lycoming, Textron, State of Connecticut, Curtiss Wright Corp., American Lurgi Corp., Flaherty & Giavara, Metcalf & Eddy Inc. in Boston and in Egypt, along with Allison Advanced Development Engineering, Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., Pratt & Whitney co., Energy Corp., FuelCell Energy, and Connecticut Air and Space Center. In addition to his wife Georgia, of 62 years, he is survived by his sister Marie Davidian of Winchester, Ma, and by five loving children: Heidi Ann, Bryan Patrick, Lynne Marie, Scott John and Kymberly Theresa and her loving husband Michael Takish and family friend Stephen Pitcher. Hal Connors leaves a legacy of love for history, science and nature. He loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night. Family and friends are invited to Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad Street Milford, Sunday January 4th 2015 from 12 pm to 3 pm. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church on Merwin Ave, Milford at 11 am on January 5th 2015. Interment will be private in New Calvary Cemetery on January 6th in Roslindale, Massachusetts.
