Helene Taylor
Helene Cowan Taylor., age 84, of Stratford and formerly of Milford, died June 26, 2009 in her home. She was the wife of the late Charles R. Taylor. Born on March 16, 1925, in New Rochelle N.Y., daughter of the late Francis and Mildred Mager Cowan Sr. Mrs. Taylor was a secretary for David Floyd Insurance of Orange for several years. She also worked for the Milford Driving School. Helene was a member of the First United Church of Christ of Milford for many years. Survivors include her beloved children, Richard M. Lyon of Gregory, TX., David Lyon of Beacon Falls, CT and Gail Lyon Warner of Milford, two brothers, Francis Cowan of Kennebunk, ME., Robert T. Beard of Princeton Junction, NJ., five grandchildren, Robert, Brian, Amanda, Joshua and Amy, three great grandchildren, Stefanie, Ashlyn and Brian. Calling hours will be held Monday June 29, 2009 in the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St. “On the Green” Milford from 6-8pm. Funeral home Prayer Service will be held Tuesday at 10: am.
