John Bond Obituary

John M. Bond, age 89, of Naugatuck and formerly a life long resident of Milford, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was born on November 10, 1917, in Bridgeport and is the husband of the late Dorothy Ashelford Bond. Mr. Bond was a local union carpenter and builder for many years in the surrounding community. He was a graduate of Milford High School a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II and in his youth served St Mary's Church as an altar boy and member of its church choir. Survivors include a daughter Janice Bond of Naugatuck, a brother James Bond of FL., two sisters Lucille Lowe of MD., and Patsy LaPierre of NC, two granddaughters Lisa Berman of CO., and Barbara Roddenberry of FL. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a daughter Barbara Berman and sister Ella Bateman. Calling hours are Sunday, July 8, 2007, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St. “On the Green” Milford with a Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:30am in St. Mary's Church. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery.
