John Howard Knapp, age 40, a lifelong Milford resident, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital from a construction accident. John graduated from Muhlenberg College with a bachelor degree and received a project management certification from Villanova University. He was the proud owner of Knapp Roofing and was also a licensed real estate agent for Greytak Realty in Shelton. A devoted and dedicated son, he is survived by his parents John and Maria Barbieri Knapp, brothers Michael Knapp (Allison) and James Knapp (Debbie) all of Milford, sister Catherine DelVecchio (Dan) of Orange, nephew Kyle Knapp and nieces Caroline, Stefanie and Charlotte DelVecchio. John will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his fun loving personality, good heart and generosity. Calling hours are Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 4pm to 8pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 14that 10:30am in Christ the Redeemer Church, 325 Oronoque Rd., Milford. Interment will be private.
