John Morris LeMarier, age 56, of Milford, beloved husband of May Lisa LeMarier, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Bridgeport on November 7, 1959, he was the son of Lucy Gumkowiski LeMarier and the late Donald LeMarier. John was the center and strength of his family. He will be remembered for his generous and giving nature, for having the biggest heart and always being kind to everyone. Of his many accomplishments, John enjoyed a career as a realtor for Harris Company. His proud moments were the building of a shelter for battered women and children in NY and the development of the old Kress building for which he was recognized for bringing progress to Spanish Harlem. John had a great sense of humor and he was enthusiastic and motivating. He loved history, trivia, music, fishing, and his life by the ocean. Most of all, John was an excellent husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Besides his wife and mother, John is survived by his two daughters Gabrielle LeMarier and Rachel LeMarier, siblings, Susan, Denise, Jimmy, David, Tommy, and nieces and nephews, Aaron, Eric “Bucky,” and Sara. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 5 to 8 pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 28th at 10 am in St. Ann’s Church, 501 Naugatuck Ave, Milford. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Buckingham Ave, Milford.
