John McCormack
John T. McCormack., age 82, of Milford, and formerly of Bridgeport died Friday January 16, 2009 in Milford Hospital. He was born on January 15, 1927, in Berkley CA, son of the late John and Mildred Richter McCormack. Mr. McCormack was the beloved husband of Helen Szymborski McCormack. He worked for U.S. Post office for 29 years and was an active member of St Ann’s Church, St Ann’s men’s club, 50 + club, Milford Senior Citizens, Polka Cousins, an avid bowler and traveler. In addition to his wife he is survived by his devoted children Edward McCormack of Bridgeport, John and wife Kathy McCormack of Fairfield, Joseph McCormack of Bridgeport, step-daughter Janice and husband Donald Kondor of Florida, grandchildren Jocelyn Sherwood, Kaitlyn & Caroline McCormack, Amanda Hofflinger, Seth & Jena Kondor, great grandchildren Haylee Hofflinger, Ethan and Sophie Kondor. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Helen Chilinski and brother William. Calling hours will be held Monday in the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St. Milford from 3-7 pm. Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:45 am from the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial in St Ann’s Church Milford at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in St Michael’s Cemetery Stratford.Obituary
