John Mezes
John S. Mezes Jr., 74 of Branford, beloved husband of Kathleen (McFadden) Mezes, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 6, 2013, in New Haven. John was born in Fairfield, December 1, 1938, to the late John and Ruth Mezes. After attending local schools, he served proudly in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He also attended technical schools for electrical, plumbing and carpentry. John was a supervisor for Simkins Industries for many years. In his free time he enjoyed many sports, especially golf and was a lifelong Yankees and Giants fan. Besides his loving wife, he is also survived by his sons; John (Christina) Mezes III of Milford and Joseph Mezes of Branford. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm with a prayer service at 2:30 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home 135 N. Broad St. Milford.
