Joseph Carregal

Joseph A. Carregal, age 69, of Bridgeport, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010 in Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born on October 9, 1940 in New York City to the late Henry and Emily Carregal. He proudly served in the US Army and before retiring he was employed in the customer service department of the NY Telephone Co. Family and friends will remember him as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Carregal is survived by his loving wife Marion Orlando Carregal, children Anthony Carregal, Kevin M. Carregal and Abbie Wiederhold, brother Henry Carregal, sisters Helen Negron and Kathy Ordmandy, seven grandchildren Kevin, Jr., Klaire, Korey, Derek, Casey, Lindsay and Sidney and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 4 to 8pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 23th at 11am. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to Smilow Cancer Hospital, C/O Yale New Haven Hospital, 20 York St., New Haven, CT 06510.
