Justine Reising Hunt passed away peacefully at the Milford Hospital Hospice Care Center on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the age of 86, beloved wife of the late Russell William Hunt, Sr. of 62 years. Justine was born in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late George R. and Katherine Fitzgibbons Reising and was a graduate of Hillhouse High School in 1943. She is survived by her sons, Russell William Hunt, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, Timothy John Hunt and Matthew Paul Hunt of Milford, CT, her daughters, Susan Hunt Oravetz and April Janice Hunt both of Milford, CT. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by four siblings; Richard and Robert Reising, Dorothy Foye and Frances Crann; two daughters, Christine Mary Hunt and Katherine Charlotte Smigay, and one son, Jeffrey Kevin Hunt. During her life, she nurtured 8 children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She enjoyed homemaking television westerns and, as an avid sports enthusiast LOVED her UCONN Huskies women's basketball games. She was thankful for many good friends and neighbors who enriched her life, particularly Ricky, Geraldine and Gilbert. While raising her family, she worked outside of the home: She was a volunteer secretary for the Milford Building Movers. She was employed part time as a house cleaner, an operator for a telephone answering service and a bus driver for Special Needs students. For 25 years she worked full time as a Directory Assistance Operator for Southern New England Telephone Company (now AT&T). Her family will remember her as a strong woman. Services will be held at Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 pm. Interment will be private.
