Lillian Helena Wheeler, age 93, of Cornfield Rd., Milford, died on Thursday, August 03, 2006, in Bridgeport Hospital. She was born on August 11, 1912, in Hartford, to the late Dennis and Etta Travers Feery. Before retiring, she was employed by Carpenter Technology as an executive secretary. A State Champion swimmer in her day, she won the Cross Harbor Competition several times. Her love for swimming continued though her life, along with being an artist and enjoying cartoons. A beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son Dennis Jones and his wife Jean of Las Vegas and her daughter Linda Hoppes and her husband Gary of Milford, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband Donald Wheeler. All funeral services are private and are being handled by the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford.
