Lucille Riggione

Lucille Marie (Assunto) Riggione, age 95, of Milford passed quietly and peacefully into God’s hands after a long illness at Hospice in Branford, CT on June 6, 2012. She was born in West Haven on December 13, 1916. She was the wife of the late Neil J. Riggione. She was the daughter of the late Maria Mattei Assunto and Antonio Assunto. Lucille was predeceased by her loving sister Mary Savarese and her brothers John, Joseph and Anthony Assunto. She leaves a brother Frank Cacciopoli of Long Island, NY. She is also predeceased by her son-in-law Robert D. Kelly. She is survived by her daughter Ann D. Kelly of Guilford, son Nicholas (Victoria) Riggione of Milford, son Neil (Concetta) Riggione of Orange, daughter Mary Lou Olsen of Milford, her loving eleven grandchildren Robert, Lucille, Eileen, David, Nicola, Maria, Neil, Martin, Liza, Mia and Ali and adoring sixteen great grandchildren Eric, Shannon, Austin, Justin, Madeline, Melissa, Emily, Nicholas, Paxton, Audry Ane, Isabella, Gianni, Zarin, Angelina, Leonardo and Eve. Before retiring, she was the co-owner with her husband and her sons of Knickerbocker Famous Bar and Restaurant, Lums Family Restaurant and Cheezsteak Charley’s at the Connecticut Post Mall. Callings hours are Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 4 to 7pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 11, 2012 at St. Mary’s Church at 11am. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Donations to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405 in her name or flowers are acceptable.
