Madan Nangia

Madan Nangia, age 82, of Orange, passed away at the Watermark Healthcare Center in Bridgeport on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. He was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan on August 26, 1931 to the late LaLa Lajpat Rai Nangia and Vishan Devi. He received a masters from Ohio State in Political Science and a masters from UCLA in Business Management and a PHD in Marketing from NYU. As an Emeritus Professor, he taught in LIU, Kean, Hofstra, UNH, UB and Southern State University until his retirement. Madan is survived by his daughter Kiran Anna Nangia of Orange, his grandson Alexander Nangia Blomberg of Orange and his nephew Jayanth Mahajan of India.. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara Joan (Bloom) Nangia in 2013. A Prayer Service and Kirtan will be held at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford on Sunday, March 30th at 12:45 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until time of service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to: Professor Madan Nangia Scholarship, c/o SCSU Foundation, 501 Crescent St., New Haven, CT 06515.
