Margaret Francis

Margaret E. Francis, 83, of Milford CT died unexpectedly at her daughter's home in Woonsocket, RI on December 25, 2007. She was the wife of the late Wallace R. Francis. Born in Hartland, ME on February 26, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Merrill and Bertha (Gilliatt) Moore. She loved travel, cooking and caring for her family as well as volunteering at Milford Hospital and the Audubon Society. Over her lifetime she had fun working at many different jobs. She belonged to the First United Church of Christ, Congregational where she was a deacon, Sunday school teacher and participated in many other church activities. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Bertrand Harnois of Woonsocket, RI; her daughter Barbara Francis of West Haven, CT; her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Edward Maher II of New Haven, CT; her grandsons Kyle and Christopher Harnois of Woonsocket, RI; her grandson Edward J. Maher III and his wife Sandy M. Maher of New Haven, CT; her sister and brother-in-law Helen and Russell Phillips of Walpole, MA. She was predeceased by a son, John M. Francis and a brother Douglas Moore. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday January 5, 2008 at the First United Church of Christ, Congregational, Milford, CT.
