Margaret “Dottie” Dorothea Smith Hughes, age 86, of Milford , passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2008 in Golden Hill Health Care. She was born on April 10, 1922, in Halifax Nova Scotia to the late Eleanor Smith. Mrs. Hughes was a Licensed Practical Nurse working 30 years in Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville , NY and was currently the Nurse at the Milford Senior Center . In addition to her mother she was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael P. Hughes. Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen M. Cercone of Milford and Louise Engel of West Haven , three grandchildren Alyssa Shoop, Michael Cercone and Kristafer Engel. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2008, from 4 to 8pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St. , Milford . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:30am in St. Mary’s Church. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Hawthorne, N.Y.
