Margaret F. Law, age 97, of Orange, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in Orange Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Herbert L. Law. Born in Orange on January 27, 1913, she was the daughter of late Margaret Bescher and Bernard Foyer, Sr. Margaret and her husband resided in Milford before taking residence in Orange. She had taught in the Orange School System at the Orange Center School (Mary L. Tracy) for eight years before relocating to Milford High School and Joseph Foran High School both as a teacher and Guidance Counselor. After forty-eight years in education Margaret retired in 1983. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Southern Connecticut State University, a master’s degree at the University of Connecticut and a sixth year degree at Fairfield University. Mrs. Law was a member of the Connecticut Education Association, the National Education Association and the Connecticut Teachers Retirement Association. She was a parishioner of Holy Infant Church and a member of the Holy Infant Woman’s Guild. She survived by her sister-in-law Audrey Foyer, niece Susan Foyer Smith, nephew Donald Foyer, a grand nephew and several grand nieces. Besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sister Francis DeCaprio, her brother Bernard Foyer and nephew Thomas Foyer. Calling hours are Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 9 to 10am at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Holy Infant Church, Racebrook Rd., Orange following the calling hours at 11am.
