Margaret Pember
Margaret Fauquier Pember, age 94, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 11. Margaret ( Marge) was born March 16, 1916 on the family homestead in Prairie Township, Nebraska. A direct descendant of the Colonial Governor of Virginia, Frances Fauquier, her grandparents moved from Virginia to settle in Nebraska during the 1840 Nebraska land rush. Both of her grandfathers fought on the side of the Union during the Civil War. One made the supreme sacrifice , dying of complications from wounds received in the battle of Vicksburg. During the depression, Margaret and her sisters Elizabeth and Anneta moved to New York City. There she met her future husband, Nathaniel Churchill Pember. They married and moved to Milford, Ct. where they made their home and raised their family. Marge is predeceased by her husband, Nathaniel, two daughters, Suzanna Belle Cassel and Carol Cecelia Pember, Suzanna's husband Terry Cassel, and 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter Barbara Skopp ( husband Dan), sons Harry Pember ( wife Bunny) and David Pember, 7 grandchildren, Mark Cassel (wife Ann), Jacquie Teixeira (husband Bryan), Julia Lavecchia (husband Gian), Dan Skopp, David Pember, Jon Pember , Chris Pember and 5 great grandchildren, Jarod and Jacob Teixeira, Charlotte and Jacson Lavecchia, and McKenzie Skopp. She will be missed by her close friend and neighbor Jackie Pender and close friend Betty Kier. Marge loved children and enjoyed driving a school bus for the Winkle Bus company for several years. In her later years she was a volunteer reader and lunch room monitor at Mathewson Grammar School. Marge was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star. At Marge's request services will be held gravesite later in the Spring. She also requested that mourners refrain from sending flowers and such.
