Marjorie W. Martin, age 68, of Bridgeport, lifetime companion and friend of Clinton Jones, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 8, 2010 in St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born on July 9, 1942, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Robert and Ruby Lee Whitted. Marjorie was a social worker for the State of Connecticut before her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed the Senior Center of Bridgeport. She is survived by her children Alexander Martin of Bpt., Tyrone Martin of NC., Kenneth Martin of Ansonia, Kevin Jones of Waterbury and Michelle Martin of NC., a brother Robert Whitted Jr. of Middlebury, sisters Rachelle Mitchell of Milford , Karen Johnson of SC., Dr. Norma Browder of Washington, DC, 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two brothers Kevin and Ronald Whitted and sisters Geraldine Fewell and Joan Early. Calling hours are Thursday, August 12, 2010, from 5 to 8 pm at the The Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford and Friday morning 10:00am to 12: Noon directly at the Mount Aery Baptist Church 73 Frank St. Bridgeport. Funeral Service will be held Friday in the Church at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery Bridgeport. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
