Richard Patrick Card, Sr., age 72, of Milford, passed away in his home on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. He was born on March 24, 1936, in Bridgeport to the late Leon and Elizabeth Troy Card. He proudly served in the US Air Force before being employed by United Parcel Service for 38 years. A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he also enjoyed being a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Card is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Therese Cecile Guillette Card, devoted children Richard P. Card, Jr. of Southbury, Kenneth J. Card of Naugatuck, Wayne E. Card of North Haven, Lawrence T. Card of Trumbull, Suzanne M. Card of Prospect and Denise E. Sousa of Orange, brothers Thomas James Card of Colorado, Paul Card of New Hampshire and John Card of Colorado, sisters Sister Mary Jane Card of Wilton and Sister Leona Card of Colorado, grandchildren Jennifer, Kenneth II, Zachary, Emilee, Caroline, Olivia, Sydnee, Theresa, Michael, Alexander, Rachel, Lauren, William and Nathaniel. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by 2 brothers, 3 sisters and grandson Richard III. Calling hours are Friday, April 18, 2008, from 4 to 8pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 19th at 10:30am in St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave., Milford. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery.
