Robert Louis D’Ambrosio, age 84, of Milford, passed away on Sunday July 26, 2009 in St Raphael’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Susan Allen D’Ambrosio for 58 years. Mr. D’Ambrosio was born on November 28, 1924 in Mt. Vernon, NY to the late Louis J. and Rose Sosto D’Ambrosio. He proudly served as a Staff Sergeant for the US Army Air Corps on Tinian, Marianas Islands during WWII. Robert was a graduate of the University of Missouri. He retired after 38 years as an electrical engineer with General Electric Co. He was a member of the Milford Walking Group and the GE Volunteers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children, Steven P. D’Ambrosio of Lewisburg, TN and Terri A. D’Ambrosio and her husband Wayne Mattheson of Andover, MA, grandchildren Kurt D'Ambrosio, Anita Joncas, Kristy Surace, Brandon Elvidge and Kira Mattheson. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren. Calling hours are Friday July 31, 2009 from 5 to 7:00 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 am in Christ the Redeemer Church, Milford. Interment will be private.
