Robert Hanson Obituary

Robert Michael Hanson III, age 31, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2014 to be with our Lord. He was surrounded by his devoted and loving parents, Robert Michael Hanson, Jr. and Monica Michele Sumski both of Milford and his best friend and longtime aide Kevin Berry of Prospect. Robert was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Edward F. Sumski and Sylvia B. Gruda Sumski of Milford, aunt Michele Sumski Chadbourne, uncle Mark E. Sumski and aunt Marguerite M. Sumski. He is survived by his sister Melissa A. Hanson-Tanner and her husband David and nephews David James and soon to arrive Parker Grayson of Indiana. He is also survived by his fraternal grandparents Robert M. and Barbara Hanson of Milford and many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. Though his name was Robert, he was affectionately known as “Bubba”, “Bubberton” and “Bobby”. Bobby was a special person, who was born with Tuberous Sclerosis a genetic debilitating disease. Regardless of the challenges of this disease Bobby was a special person with a unique personality…he was pure love. For those who had the privilege to be part of his life he let you know how much he loved you by his “ huge beautiful smiles”, contagious laugh and some of the hilarious antics he would pull off or simply by taking your hand and holding it. We will always thank God for the time he allowed Bobby to be in our lives. Calling hours are 9 to 11am on Friday, March 28, 2014 with a prayer service at 11am in the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford, CT. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery.
