Robert Magel

Robert Walter Magel, age 78, of Milford, beloved husband of Jennie Migliaro Magel of 53 years, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Waterbury on December 25, 1932, to the late Walter and Ada Benedetti Magel. Bob was retired from the sales division of the Drakes Co. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, VFW post 34, Teamsters local 145 and was a former member of the Republican Town Committee of Bpt. He was an avid Red Sox and UCONN Fan and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his wife, he is survived by his devoted children, Robin Magel of Milford, Dawn White (Mark) of E. Hartford, Pamela Falcioni, Dale Zaczkowski (Glen), Kim Burrows (Fred) and Lynn Carangelo (Frank) all of Milford, a brother Alan Magel (Kathy) and grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Melissa, Bobby, Jessica, Jeffrey, Mario, Gillian, Hope, Lia and the late Nathan Burrows. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, staff and all who cared for him. Calling hours will be held Thursday April 28, 2011 from 4 ~ 8 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. Service Friday at 10:30 am directly in the Trinity Lutheran Church 21 Robert Treat Pkwy. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery.
