Robert Nelson “Bing” Millar, age 84, of Wallingford, formerly of Milford and Mamaroneck, NY, passed away Friday , March 6 , 2009 in Masonic Care Health Center of Wallingford. He was the husband of Ruth Ann Walker Millar for 53 years. Mr. Millar was born on June 1, 1924 in Milford to the late James M. and Ruth Nelson Millar. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. A graduate of the University of CT he retired as a District Sales Manager for Raybestos. An active member of the community, he was a 63 year member of American Legion post 34 in Milford, a 62 year member of Ansantawae Lodge # 89, Milford Yacht Club, Milford Volunteer Fire Dept., an original member and assisted in establishing the United Presbyterian Church of Milford. While residing in New York, Bing was extremely active in the Larchmont Avenue Church, serving in many capacities. He was also a Co-Chair of PTA Special Education programs. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son David Millar of North Salem, N.Y., a daughter Lynn and her husband Edward W. (Ted) Ojarovsky of West Shokan, N.Y., two beloved grandchildren, Helena and Felicia Ojarovsky. He was also predeceased by a brother James and sister Ruth Wilkinson. All are invited to arrive Tuesday March 10, 2009 at 10:00 am at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. Masonic Services 10:30 am and Prayer service at 11:00 with the Reverend Dr. William P. Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery Milford.
