Robert F. Tiano, age 78 of Milford, formerly of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Laura Tiano, passed away April 28, 2017 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Robert was born in Derby, March 23, 1939, son of the late John and Raffaela Conte Tiano. Robert grew up in Bridgeport where he graduated from Harding High School, Class of 1958. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1962 as a Jet Engine Mechanic. He was later employed by Avco Lycoming, Sikorsky as a production planner, Textron as a supervisor, and Christmas Tree Shops as a supervisor. He also was a founding member of the Great Hill Fish & Game Club in 1971. He later married his wife Laura in 1972 and moved to Milford. He is survived by his brother, Jerry; his sister, Elizabeth; his sister-in-law, Bertha; and his niece, Rebecca. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
