Ronald Patrick McCormick, age 82, of Milford passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 in Connecticut Hospice. He was born on January 24, 1933 in Bridgeport to the late George and Marjorie Tompkins McCormick. He proudly served in the US Army during peacetime. Before retiring, he was employed by SNET as a lineman and worked in the Dispatch Office. An active member of the community, he was a member of the Milford Elks and the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, traveling especially cruising with his wife and living and raising his family on the beach. A talented baseball player, he was signed to a minor league baseball team. Mr. McCormick is survived by his devoted daughters Lynda Kuba and her husband Mark and Cathy Barton and her husband Mark all of Milford, grandchildren Eric and Kelly Kuba and Sean and Shannon Barton and great granddaughter Scarlet Kuba along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife Evelyn Castelot McCormick, son Michael McCormick, grandson Colin Barton, brother Stewart McCormick and sister Muriel Porter. Calling hours are Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 5 to 7pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. A prayer service will be celebrated on Monday, June 29th at the funeral home at 1pm with Deacon Sennett. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Colin Barton to the Adrenoleukodystrophy "ALD" Foundation, 241 Camden Street, Slidell, LA 70461.
