Russell Whitney Jones, Jr., age 69, of Milford passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Milford Hospital. He was born on September 4, 1942 in Bridgeport to the late Russell Whitney and Helen Garvey Jones Sr. Before retiring, he was a truck driver for Allied Van Lines. Russy was an avid Yankee fan and was a Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast. Mr. Jones is survived by his loving wife, of 30 years, Mary Lynn Jones, children Jamie Abercrombie and her husband Scott of North Haven and Russell “Rusty” W. Jones III and his wife Sheryl of Milford, step-son Ronald Martin of Milford, brothers Allen Jones of Milford and Richard Jones of Vermont, sisters Shirley York of Milford and Virginia Burns of West Haven, grandchildren Kayla and Taylor Abercrombie and great granddaughter Skylar Abercrombie. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by brothers William Astram and Roger Jones. Calling hours are Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 4 to 8pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 19th at 11am. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery.Obituary
