Scott Leslie Lapham, age 62, of Milford , passed away suddenly, Thursday May 15, 2014 from a heart attack doing what he loved, playing underwater hockey. A lifelong Milford resident, he was born on August 29, 1951 to the late Bernard and Shirley (Graham) Lapham. He graduated from Jonathan Law High School and Greater New Haven Technical College and proudly served in the U S Navy aboard the USS Enterprise during the Vietnam era. Scott played life to the fullest with his many interests in sports such as; golfing, fishing, traveling, skiing and of course underwater hockey. Before retiring, he was employed as a test engineer. Mr. Lapham is survived by his devoted wife Anne Callahan Lapham, dedicated children Graham Michael Lapham and his wife Katie and Sarah Lapham Stanley and her husband Mark all of Milford, sisters Joan Lance and Dale of Ecuador, Susan Sogga and Rod of North Carolina, Wendy Ferencz and Paul of Trumbull, his cherished granddaughter Riley, grandsons “Poppie’s Boys”; Thomas, Jackson and Cooper. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Norma Callahan, in-laws Susan Lapham, Margaret and John Maugeri, Robert Holzwarth, James and Kristi Callahan all of Milford, and John Michael Callahan and Nancy Petite of Willimantic and Mimi Lines of North Haven and many loving nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a brother Thomas Lapham, sister-in-law Elizabeth Holzwarth and brother-in-law Keane Callahan. Calling hours are Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St. , Milford from 4pm to 6:30pm with a funeral service following the calling hours. Interment will be private.
