Thelma A. McLean, age 81, of Milford, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. She was born on January 2, 1929 in New Brunswick, Canada to the late Clifford and Alice Stairs McKinney and grew up in Rumford, ME. She was an active member of the Mary Taylor United Methodist Church community for many years, employed as their church secretary, serving as a dedicated and enthusiastic member of the church choir and many other service and social groups within the church. She was also a member of the Milford Senior Choir. Family and music were her greatest joys. Mrs. McLean is survived by her loving husband, of 58 years, James O. McLean, devoted children Steve McLean and his wife Laura of Sacramento, CA, Kathy McLean and her partner Gerry Card of West Haven, Susan Mullins of Sacramento, CA, Bruce McLean and his wife Julie of Ventura, CA and Christopher McLean and his wife Lisa of Willington and precious grandchildren Koren, Travis, Maegan, Liam and Lucas. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Merrill McKinney. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Mary Taylor United Methodist Church at 2:00pm. Interment will be private. Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford is handling the arrangements.
