Thomas G. Bain, age 77, of Trumbull and formerly of Milford, passed away
peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2009. He was born on December 13, 1931 in
Milford to the late Joseph and Gertrude Ryan Bain. He proudly served in the
US Navy, 7th Fleet, during the Korean Conflict. Before retiring, he was
employed in the engineering department of Echlin Manufacturing. In recent
years he worked part time as a golf course ranger for the Orange Hills
Country Club, keeping him close to the game he loved. A jack of all trades
with a generous nature, he was Mr. Fixit to family and friends. An avid
golfer he also enjoyed woodworking, trout fishing, cooking, UConn Basketball
and especially spending time with his family. Mr. Bain is survived by his
devoted wife Eleanor M. Foschene Bain, son Mark T. Bain and his wife Linda
of Milford and granddaughter Jessie Bain. Besides his parents, he is
predeceased by brothers Joseph and Robert Bain and sister Gertrude Wood.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday July 1, 2009 at 10:30 am in St Mary’s Church, Gulf St. Milford. Interment will be private. The Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford is handling the arrangements. Donations may be made in his name to VA Connecticut Healthcare System, 950 Campbell Ave. West Haven, CT 06516.
