Vilborg (Emilsdottir) Bonyai, age 85, beloved wife of the late Frederick J. Bonyai of Milford, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 in Milford Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on April 13, 1928 in Hafnarfjordur, Iceland to the late Emil Jonsson and Gudfinna Sigurdardottir. She attended The Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen, Denmark where she received a degree in Fine Arts and continued during her life to paint in oils and watercolors from landscapes to still life. Vilborg was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her loving children Mary (Robert) Melone of North Haven, her son Michael (Jana) Bonyai of West Chester N.Y.; her sister Gudrun (Runa) her brother Sigurdur (Siggi), grandchildren Emily (Bryan) Cretella of North Haven, Sara (John) Cannon of Hamden and Courtney Bonyai of West Chester N.Y., and great granddaughters Avery and Madelynn Cretella . She was predeceased by her brothers, Ragnar, Jon and Birgir. Calling hours are Thursday, May 2nd , 2013 from 10 am to 12 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford, CT.
