Vincent DeLillo Obituary

Vincent R. DeLillo, age 85, of Milford, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010 in Milford Hospital. He is predeceased by his loving wife, of 57 years, Helen DeLillo. Mr. DeLillo was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 3, 1924, son of the late John and Rose Torre DeLillo. He was a WWII veteran and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. He was employed for 37 years for the New York City Transit Authority. After his retirement, he did what he loved best, spending time with his family, watching the Mets and playing Bingo. Mr. DeLillo was a devoted and loving father to Rosemary, John, Louis (Sara), Patrick (Carrie), and Nancy Moody (Arnold). The light of his eyes were his 8 grandchildren, Vincent, Jessica, Kayla, Donavon, Audrey, Jacob, Rebecca, and Jordan. He is also survived by a loving sister Theresa (Louis) D’Amato and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by 3 brothers, Nicholas, Frank and Cono. Vincent always gave with his heart and it is shown in all that knew and loved him. He will be missed by all. “Rest in peace Pops.” In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in his name to Milford Hospital, 300 Seaside Ave., Milford, CT 06460. Calling hours are Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 4 to 8pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:30am, directly in St. Mary’s Church. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery.
