Walter S. Rauch, age 95, of Milford, Beloved husband of the late Florence Marlin Rauch, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2009 in Griffin Hospital. He was born on November 27, 1913 in Harwinton, CT to the late Sefferine and Agnes Grohs Rauch. Mr. Rauch was the owner and operator of the former Union Gulf Service Station of Milford, for twenty five years. He was a 60 year member of Ansantawae Lodge No. 89, A.F. & A.M., and member of the Gas Station Retailers Assoc. Mr. Rauch is survived by his devoted daughters, Joan Rauch of Milford, Carol Rau-Hewitt of Newtown, Karen vanDijk of Clinton and Susan R. and her husband John W. Cunningham of Milford, a brother-in-law Franklin Marlin of New Fairfield, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A graveside prayer and masonic service will be held Friday June 19, 2009 at 11:30 am directly in Kings Highway Cemetery Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church 71 River St Milford 06460, Juvenile Diabetes 2969 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT 06518 or CT Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT 06405.
