Wendy S. Brown, age 65 of Milford, passed away July 31, 2017 at Gaylord Hospital, Wallingford. Wendy was born in Stamford, January 29, 1952, daughter of the late Edward and Vera Malanoski. She was a graduate of Rippowam High School in Stamford and worked as a manager for Grace Cole Jones Gift Shop at the Norwalk Hospital. She was also the founder and President of the former Bridgeport Cat Project. She is survived by her son, David Brown and his wife Dawn of Virginia Beach, VA; her grandchildren Colten and Austin Brown of Virginia Beach, VA; her sister Carol Byczek and her husband Norbert of Westminster, CO; her nephew Michael Scatamacchia and his wife Karen of Easton; her nieces Janet Mitchell of Hamden; Lynda Elley, and her husband Steve of Scottsdale, AZ; and her great nieces Kristen Scatamacchia of Scottsdale, AZ, Michelle Scatamacchia of Easton, Amanda Mitchell of New Britain, Kayla Mitchell of Hamden, and Claire Elley of Scottsdale, AZ. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Barbara J. Hartsig of Stamford. A memorial service will be held Saturday August 5th at 7pm at Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford with Deacon Richard Sennett officiating. Calling hours will be held from 4pm to 8pm. Interment will be private.
