Naugatuck-Agostinho Portugal Fonseca, Sr., 75, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria D. (Nata) Fonseca. Mr. Fonseca was born on December 11, 1936 in Murtosa, Portugal a son of the late Jose and Palmira Fonseca. He was retired from Tilcon Inc., where he worked for many years. He was a member of the Clube Uniao Portuguesa, a member of the Labors Int. Union of North America for 36 years and loved fishing. Besides his wife of Naugatuck he is survived by his daughter, Suzana Eisner and her husband Martin of Middlefield, his son, Agostinho P. Fonseca Jr. of Naugatuck and three grandchildren, Daniel, Abigail, and Michael. He is also survived by several aunts, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Manuel Fonseca. The funeral will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St, Naugatuck. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
