Albert LaCasse

Naugatuck-Albert J. LaCasse, 88, of 74 Gorman Street, husband of Dorothy P. (Jepson) LaCasse died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Jewish Home in New Haven after a long illness. Mr. LaCasse was born December 2, 1921 in Skowhegan, ME son of the late Theophile O. and Florence (Provost) LaCasse. He was a production worker for American Woolen and a retiree of Uniroyal, Inc. He was a veteran of WWII US Army, a member of VFW Post 1946, the American Legion post 17, a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Naugatuck Senior Men's Club and the national AARP and a communicant of St. Francis Church. Besides his wife of Naugatuck he is survived by one daughter, Barbara Fox of Lawrence, MA, two sons Albert J. LaCasse, Jr. of Methuem, MA and Robert LaCasse of Salem, NH, a step daughter, Sandra Verrier of Wallingford, two step sons, Robert Newman and Gary Newman both of Naugatuck. Two sisters, Regina Messina of Lawrence, MA and Jeanette Matthews of Port St. Lucie, FL, several grand and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Antonio LaCasse of CA. A military funeral will be held on Wednesday February 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck to St. Francis Church, 318 Church St. for a mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will take place in St. James Cemetery.
