Albert A. Rupsis Retired from Uniroyal BEACON FALLS — Albert A. Rupsis, 96, passed away on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at the Shady Knoll Health Center in Seymour. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Patterson) Rupsis. Mr. Rupsis was born on March 11, 1916 in Troy, N.Y. and was the son of the late Anthony and Sophia Rupsis. He worked for the Uniroyal Co. until his retirement in 1977. Mr. Rupsis loved golfing, fishing and hunting and even made his own bullets and fishing lures. He was an avid stamp and coin collector and loved to read, garden and listen to classical music. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. He is survived by four daughters, Jacquelyn Buckmiller of Fairfield, Tara Mazzetti and her husband Armand of Wolcott, Catherine (Kate) DelVecchio and her husband Frank of Middlebury and Helen Wells and her husband Steven of Kelowna, Canada; two sons, John (Tony) Rupsis and his wife Evelyn and Michael Rupsis, all of Beacon Falls; and a daughter-in-law Eileen Rupsis; two brothers, Joseph Rupsis and his wife Mary of Winchester, Ky. and Stanley Rupsis of Hartford. Mr. Rupsis also leaves 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews . Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son David Rupsis. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, 25 Maple Ave., Beacon Falls. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck is in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Church.
