Prospect-Alice (Champlin) Ostapko, 88, of 62 Summit Rd, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009. She was the widow of Stanley Ostapko . Mrs. Ostapko was born on October 10, 1921 in Canaan. She was retired from St. Mary's Hospital where she worked as a registered nurse for many years. Mrs. Ostapko served for more than five years on the board of Greater Waterbury Transit District. She was always interested in helping people and making sure that those who lived in Prospect had transportation. She is survived by her grandson, Steve Carr of Attleboro, MA and granddaughter, Tracey Noonan of Auburn, NH. She was predeceased by her son Bruce Carr of Middlebury. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Norfolk, CT at the convenience of the family.
