Alice B. (Birney) Ritchie 1941 - 2017 Naugatuck, CT Alice B. (Birney) Ritchie, 75, died peacefully on August 24, 2017 at Glendale Center. Alice was born on November 30, 1941 in New Haven, CT the daughter of the late William and Alice (King) Birney. Alice was a resident of Naugatuck and a former resident of New Haven and East Haven. She enjoyed reading, spending time along the Connecticut shore line and was an avid lover of animals. Alice is survived by her daughter, Catherine Ritchie of Florida; her daughter and son in law, Donna and Tom Piskura of Prospect; her granddaughter, Nicole Kaefer and her husband Michael Kaefer and her great grandson, Michael Kaefer, Jr. all of North Haven; her brother, William Birney and his wife Katherine of Wallingford and many nieces and nephews. Alice’s family would like to thank the staff at Glendale Center for the wonderful care that they provided. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 11:00am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Calling hours are Wednesday from 9:00am to 11:00am at the funeral home.
