Alice Swick

NAUGATUCK - Alice Swick, 94, the widow of Andrew Hudobenko and William Swick, died peacefully Monday, August 31, 2015 at her home. Alice was born on March 7, 1921 in Naugatuck, a daughter of the late Alizas and Barbara Grigalus and had lived in Naugatuck all of her life. She was a retired employee of Butterfield’s and she was an avid gardener, who was very proud of the plants and flowers that she grew. Alice is survived by her daughter, Barbara Mills and her husband John of Bristol, her daughter, Joyce Szejman and her husband Dennis of Prospect; her 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Alice also leaves her step-daughters, Patricia Brewster and her husband William and Carol Calo; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Alice was proud of having lived for 94 years, which was the longest in her family as she was predeceased by her sisters, Ann Emutis and Mary Miller and her brother, Joseph Weta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Friends and family may call Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue.
